Throwback Thursday – 80′s TV Original Intro Songs

Yesterday was a bit of an anomaly since I did a full video post and since you, wonderful reader, are a frequent visitor of my blog you know that THURSDAY is usually video day. In any event, yesterday’s post did involve “The POTUS with the Most-Us” a.k.a. “The Preezy of the United Steezy” so I believe I was justified in taking liberties. Still I shall not disappoint and deny you your Thursday Throwback Video selection so here it tis…

You know why youtube is awesome? Well other than allowing struggling artists (and networks) to provide “inexpensive” (cheap) original content, it also allows me to waste mad time reminiscing about my childhood tv watching habits.

Correct me if I’m wrong (and I don’t think I am) but they just don’t make show openings the way they used to do it back in the dizzy. I’m trying to think of a current (good) show that has a cool memorable opening song and I am drawing a blank. Hmmmm…

Oh well I loved these shows AND I loved their opening songs.

“Gimme A Break” – The Original Intro

“Gimme A Break” – The Slightly Revised/Replacement Intro

“Different Strokes”

“The Facts of Life”

“Charles In Charge” – Season 1 Intro (1984 – 1985)

Btw – The show was cancelled and then brought back in 1987. Same song, totally different family. #gottalove80stv

“The Greatest American Hero”

Hopefully you’ll be humming one or several of these tunes for the rest of the day. And yes you are welcome.
