President Barack Obama formally kicked off his campaign in Richmond, VA and Columbus, Ohio – key battleground states for a presidential victory in the fall.
Plunging into his campaign for a new term, President Barack Obama tore into Mitt Romney on Saturday as a willing and eager “rubber stamp” for conservative Republicans in Congress and an agenda to cut taxes for the rich, reduce spending on education and Medicare and enhance power that big banks and insurers hold over consumers.
And
“Romney and his “friends in Congress think the same bad ideas will lead to a different result or they’re just hoping you won’t remember what happened the last time you tried it their way,” the president told an audience estimated at over 10,000 partisans…” (Huffpo)
Yep, sounds about right to me. Oh and hey Romney…
“I don’t care about how many ways you try to explain it,” the president said, mocking a line Mr. Romney once used while campaigning. “Corporations aren’t people. People are people.”
I appreciate keeping the message simple. I’m a huge proponent of reminding people of the delusional out of touch commentary that came out of Romney’s mouth during the primary. And least we forget, the insane commentary was not limited to Romney these past few months. Republican controlled state legislatures and Republican congressional members have also lost their damn minds. Frothing at the mouth to roll back the rights and protections women have gained regarding reproductive options and access to basic healthcare is UNACCEPTABLE. Please remember Obama has YOUR back.
“We don’t need another political fight about ending a woman’s right to choose, or getting rid of Planned Parenthood or taking away access to affordable birth control,” he said to noisy cheers. “I want women to control their own health choices.” (NYT)

POLITICS CONTINUED
Yep, I’m still on this. As most of you should have caught wind of by now, early last week was the anniversary of taking down Osama Bin Laden. The timing being what it is (election year) President Obama’s campaign released a political ad reminding you that he has had to make tough decisions and take risks and the pay off was that he scored a major victory in the fight against terrorism.
And now roll out the hypocrisy red carpet. The Republicans (and Arianna Huffington) decided to climb atop some imaginary moral high ground and took a self-righteous, almost pious, offense to the ad. I mean SERIOUSLY??!!??
