Is it too late to start a “Best of List” for 2012? Oh well I’m going for it. Best “Real Talk” Convo of 2012. A young woman is at home with her 3 month old baby and hears intruders outside her door:
“I’ve got two guns in my hand. Is it OK to shoot him if he comes in this door?” McKinley asked the dispatcher.
“Well, you have to do whatever you can do to protect yourself,” the dispatcher is heard telling McKinley. “I can’t tell you that you can do that, but you have to do what you have to do to protect your baby.
Sounds about right to me.

I remember this story mainly because I thought of the adrenaline rush she must of been experiencing during the entire altercation. I’m saying, on the phone, locked and loaded, finger on the trigger, screaming baby in the background, intruder entering her home, and super scared… intensity times infinity.
Interesting because even though one would assume that she should be good and terrified the tone of her question makes it seem as though she is mad calm.
